I recon DRZ forks will fit without a lot of work,be an improvement,
Wouldn't be overly expensive,
Transformed my 650
Better still,upside downies off a motocrosser,
KYB or Showa,readily available,not expensive,
Or give in to the evil side and admit defeat
Apart from two road rides, this is the only bike I've ridden since last year

JB I used to do a lot of 2 up trail riding on a DR350 ( ask Boboneleg ) and never had a problem with these bikes . There a very good all rounder . Perfect trail bike ,and Perfect at trail riding speeds .

I'm no suspension expert but I have noticed that all Japanese trail bikes from the 80s and 90s seem to have a very dead front fork action. They are not generally oversprung and tend to absorb bumps well but they don't give much feedback. This is compared to KTMs and other enduro bikes I've ridden. I'm sure this dead feeling can be overcome by fiddling around with the springs, oil and valving but this is probably only wrth spending money on if the forks are substantial enough not to flex too much.

I made the recommended adjustments to my XT350 longer preload spacers and heavier oil but it still wasn't much good and that was before I had any experience of KTM or others.

Yes Dazzer - I agree with all everyone has written

Maybe just kidding misen

Perhaps I just need to adjust the settings on the forks

Bike went well last weekend - doing over 100 lanes, maybe 120 - many which were snotty & gnarley

Engine was super tractable and very forgiving

With 80-90 bikes around at the time - you just see what everyone else is riding - I was the only DR

Good to still see 7-8 XR 400's and a 600

Plenty of modern stuff but overkill for trails I guess and at £5000-£7500 for new bikes it's a lot of wedge for an off-road bike

got a complete dr 250 in my garage,needs a camshaft or cylinder head.you can have cheap.cant be arsed stripping it down and selling all the bits.j

Hi, not sure the reason why but the guy who had my 91 model before me put rmx250 forks on it, they are 4mm fatter than standard ones, 52mm over the dr's 48mm.
No idea if it helps the ride as I haven't ridden a standard one to compare, but I don't appear to have had any more or any less "technical dismounts" as anyone else :laugh:
