It depends what you want it for , I have a schuberth c3 nice quiet and light, I also have a couple of RooF Boxer's not as well made as a arai or schuberth or a shoei, but there light quiet look good with the tinted visor's,
But during the winter I tend to use my tourX the most, and in the warmer parts of the year the boxer is much better than the schuberth
You can flip the visor all the way over and forget it's there , on the downside if you have a big nose or a desperate dan chin the boxer is a closer fit than most helmet's when the chin bar is down, oh and the rain gets in on the visor's top seal like already mentioned
If I was getting a new flip up helmet again it would be a boxer the schuberth is not worth the money its well made but I think any one of my old arai helmets are better put together

I love my Schuberth C3. There are some cons. The visor has to be snapped shut in heavy rain otherwise your face gets splashed with water and water can run down the inside of the visor. Replacement visors are expensive.

The pros far outweigh the cons. It is comfortable, light enough and fairly quiet and I like the Schuberth Comms system. On a short stop while others are removing there's I usually keep mine on. Just flip the front, have my fag and then moan at the others to kit up.

I also have a Shoei Multitec (my 3rd) which is also very good but heavier. The Schuberth edges it for me for a number of reasons but mainly the integrated visor. Here in the mountains I can go from bright blue skies to pitch black tunnels in an instant and the integral dark visor on the Schuberth is invaluable.

Heads are different shapes, what is good for one can be very painful for another. Try the helmet on and walk around for 10-15 minutes. Any little discomfort in that time will be unbearable after an hour or two. Also be mindful that a display helmet may have been broken in to a degree and a brand new one out of the box may appear tighter.

I'm all for getting a bargain but if you need to try a helmet on be prepared to pay a little extra to someone providing that facility and the means to return it easily if there is a problem rather than take advantage of their service and spend your money over the Internet. No business can afford to provide the service if no one is buying.

i like the bit about wear the helmet in store for 10-15. id prefer longer myself whilst browsing other goodies. not often you see customers in store walking around with crash helmets on- obviously testing them out? maybe they should set a trend? i agree some lids can be very uncomfortable after a while..

I have just purchased the Shark Evoline (2).
I have to say....I am over the moon with it!

As my mate said....it literally does everything you'd want a helmet to do.
Plus 5/5 rating for crash tests too!

Highly recommend.

The noisiest, draughtiest and least comfortable helmet I've ever had was a Shoei. At £170 reduced from £370 it was a disaster. Never owned an Arai, but Shark, HJC and Caberg have all been really decent makes I've tried. Currently using a Justissimo and have done about half a dozen longish (3k miles plus) tours using it.

It's a little noisy and a little heavy but for the cost it's a winner!
