Good job brother, a good way to bend tube is to fill it with kiln dry sand (play sand is ok) first, its less likely to colapse..just a tip.Obviously empty it after..

Well a bit right. You have to block the ends and it doesnt work well with certain tubewall thicknesses. I wouldnt want anyone to read your tip without this info or they could destroy the pipe.peterekins wrote:Good job brother, a good way to bend tube is to fill it with kild dry sand (play sand is ok) first, its less likely to colapse..just a tip.Obviously empty it after..
What's 'kild' sand? I'm not sure what that is. A new material?
Thanks anyway.

Well of cours you block the ends, didn't put that as thought it was obviouse and a bit patranizing, kiln dried sand, even you could work that out surely.Tom Goodman wrote:Well a bit right. Many thanks for clearing up the confusion in your info. Actually in engineering and steel fabrication, precision description and correct spelling is essential, e.g. double checking info such as 'kild'. Maybe it was a new product you'd found, who knew? ; I only asked, but it turns out simply to be an error. That's fine, but you will want to agree with me that we don't want people following inaccurate advice, resulting in disappointment. You mention play sand but you maybe forgot that this comes in several grades and types which could affect the end result, depending on pipe materials, wall thickness and the degree of bend and the type of former used.peterekins wrote:Well of cours you block the ends, didn't put that as thought it was obviouse and a bit patranizing, kiln dried sand, even you could work that out surely.Tom Goodman wrote:Well a bit right. PS Its good you went back and altered your post and some of the errors which you've discussed here. I'd be happy to at least look at any of your technical advice in future if it's your field.

Delivering information or suggesting corrections is so hard to achieve without offence- it takes skills which some find hard to master. We all have much to learn
