Re: TRF becomming Extinct?
Apparently it is going to be death by a 1000 cuts or to be accurate failures to renew.
It appears that the directors have decided that nobody other than themselves or people approved by them will be allowed to put their name forward to stand as a Director and that no proposal without a director proposing or seconding the motion will be put to the membership.
There are also rumours about that several groups are recommending that their members do not renew their membership. In other groups their chairmen are standing down which unless their is a replacement could mean lack of leaders for the future.
The question on everybody's lips now is does the TRF have a "Deadly Duo" or a "Terrible Trio".

Re: TRF becomming Extinct?
Our local TRF has a few k in the bank which is going up every year due to supporting horse events--to whom does this money belong and who has the authority on spending for local TRF groups--versus anything held in national "coffers"?

I believe this has been recently resolved, after legal advice was sought.catcitrus wrote:Our local TRF has a few k in the bank which is going up every year due to supporting horse events--to whom does this money belong and who has the authority on spending for local TRF groups--versus anything held in national "coffers"?
I believe the situation is this:
Your £45 goes to National.
Locally raised funds belong the local group, who may use as they wish, including donating to National.
National (guess who) attempted to sequester local funds but got told to do one!
Happy to be corrected.

Re: TRF becomming Extinct?
Hum interesting.
Let's hypothesise here. Say someone has become disillusioned with the national TRF and doesn't want to pay the £45, yet they like their local group. Could they contribute towards local rides and events and be a proxy member?

Re: TRF becomming Extinct?
Greetings,
I can neither confirm nor deny if the quoted statement is true as I have not been party to the meetings nor conversations of the Board.
I can however tell you that on the 13th inst. I informed by email to the Directors that I would be submitting a Proposal that I be elected to the Board. In swift return I received two emails, one advising me to be quick in submitting and the second did not know the cut off date but would phone me to help with my submission. Neither at that time knew nor quoted a cut off date.
No communications on the 14th.
On the 15th I received the promised phone call however its purpose was to inform me that at a meeting on previous evening, the 14th, the Board had confirmed the cutoff date to be the 14th. On the 15th I also received an email outlining the additional reasons for rejection but not quoting any specific documentation on which was stated the all important cut off details. Naturally I did reply rejecting their reasons but as yet I have not had a response.
Perhaps Proposals and Motions might be accepted from the floor of the AGM, but I do not know.
It is important that all Members vote at the forth coming 2017 AGM and postal Votes must be received before the 5th January 2017.
There are Proxy Vote forms available on the TRF website for those Members who can not attend the AGM. I have also pasted up a guide as to how folk might complete and submit their forms. Those registering by email appear to swiftly receive confirmation of receipt and acceptance of their forms so thank you to the person collating that data and to those who registered their vote.

Hugh.
