Longest owned was the 1968 BSA D14/4 Bantam at 15 years. The shortest was the CR125 which went in the shed when I bought it and came out two weeks later when I swapped it for the CD185.

Well, here's my list in 4 years. A bit ashamed of how much I've blown to be honest but I think I'm about settled if/when I get the SV1000 sold.
CG125 - NOW SOLD - 1st bike and I wish I'd kept it for the 3 mile commute
SV650S K2 - NOW SOLD - love sound of V-Twins, sold as I decided it was hurting my back
Versys ABS - OWN NOW - Bought to tour on, not done much in 2.5 years, big plans 2012!
SH300 Scooter - NOW SOLD - replaced CG125, not used enough to justify
SV1000 Classic - OWN NOW - replaced SV650S, too quick and selling if/when right offer
Hornet - OWN NOW - replaced SH300, also meant as a bike I could leave in Scotland for a few months each year but now a Marco Simoncelli tribute and thus a museum piece....
SV650S K4 - JUST BOUGHT - bought this little minter to do what I bought the Hornet for and keep me in V-Twin kicks when I sell the 1000. Plenty quick enough and more comfortable than my old K2.
No money left for food or much else but hey ho, have to do it while I'm still young enough as I'll only look back at what I might have done with regret.

The Versys is the downsize I've been looking at how have you got on with yours. Must mighty impressed with the report in latest issue of ABR.

Mine for the last 30 odd yrs:
Honda SS50
MZ TS125 (went everywhere on this)
Yamaha DT175MX
Suzuki GS425E
BMW R450 (worst bike i ever had, used for comuting)
Honda FT500
Yamaha RD350LC YPVS (learnt a lot on this, had a big off in Isle of Man then started racing on it)
Yamaha TZ250A (far more capable than me and damm fast)
Ducati 750ss
Honda CR500 S/M (the one bike i wish i'd never sold, built it up and owned it for ten years, road raced it, raced supermoto on it, we named it beasty..mad bad and dangerous to know)
Suzuki GSXR750
Aprilia Pegaso 650
Triumph Tiger
BMW R1150GS (my favourite road bike, chunky, clunky and built like a tank)
Husaberg fs650 s/m (racing only, lockwiring your fillings optional but recomended)
Yamaha XT660R
BMW R1200GS (workhorse for mr and mrs Yoda)
Yamaha XT660Z TENERE (this is becoming one of my favourite bikes, not fast, solid but great fun on crap roads and small lanes a great little workhorse)
might change the 1200GS FOR A 1200 TENERE end of this year.

Can I have an award for the smallest list ?
Puch 50cc 2 speed Handle bar change - Yellow with a white wooden top box

hmy:
Yamaha DT (I think) 175cc, anyway a sort of trails bike - Silver & blue
MZ 250cc (I know, I know) - Black ! because it was either black or red I think
BMW R80RT (brand spanking new from BMW Park Lane - that was a day !) - Blue
Two kids and a 20 year break (responsible parent and all that)
Honda 650cc Transalp (Mid life crisis - who knows/cares ? great bike

) - Blue
BMW R1150GS 2002 and just now turned 30k on the clock - Blue & white
There seems to be a blue theme going on here, so do I get the award for least amount of bikes owned over 35 years, feck where did the time go
