I find geotags both good and bad really, I love being able to swipe up on a photo and remind myself where I was when I took it, its just a shame that scumbag thieves know how to exploit the tech.
Anyway hope the info helps some people to keep their pride and joy a bit safer.

Terrible that this happened, any idea how they knew your whereabouts just so we don't make the same mistake. Good tips ref the location data being included with images but how about taking the photos when out on a ride somewhere, that would mean the data was useless and save mucking about with the phone settings. Good luck with the insurance claim.

Bastards!
I've been told before that it's easy enough to work out location with just your town name and photos posted, but in this case it is possible to see what is probably your exact address, down to house number. 2 mins on Google streetview and someone could double check which garage the photos are taken outside.
There is software to remove geotags:
https://www.geotagsecurity.com/
It requires basic use of a PC so easy enough.
OP, you should take down your photos now. Anyone online can see exactly where your bikes were and assume you have more.

A mate phoned me yesterday and he’s contemplating selling his ktm EXC enduro and has read this sad thread
He was going to use his iPad for the pics
I told him to use a proper camera if possible and if not use the iPad, with location data removed
Thanks

Mine does. I switch it off, or strip the exif data off before posting
