Anyone using the Pirelli Scorpion Trail II ?

I had them on my Multistrada and they were 'ok' at everything but not particularly brilliant at anything. If you want to ride on very easy hard surfaced trails they were good enough so if that was a requirement then the small losses on the road handling side of things were acceptable but as a 100% road tyre? That's not what they're designed to do so why would you buy them for that purpose?

just on the road, when i use to commute on my gsa twin cam i would aim for 15k before changing, that would be easy riding, not that i would recommend this, it was a means to an end

+1 for the tourances on the road I found them good on dry/wet roads and give good life, like all tyres long distance commutes they will square off a bit but you get long life and handling in all weathers in my experience with them.

I have one of these on the front of the KTM, with the Scorpion MT90 on the back (the guy who fitted them didn't tell me he could only get this rather another MT90 on the front until he brought my bike back to me, but apparently they are a compatible pair according to his supplier).

Only put about 250 miles on it so far but seems ok to me so far (thumbs)

Once I wear out the MT90 in the next couple of thousand miles, I'll stick a Trail II on the back and see how they fair.

The newer Tourance 'NEXT' tyres are meant to give an extra 20% longevity and slightly harder middle wearing etc...

I've just fitted one a few hundred miles ago on my V-Strom, so far so good!

+1 K60
At least 12,000 rear and 15,000 front.
I used tourances for years and they last well but square off very quickly. The K60s have a centre strip down the middle of the rear so never square off. It is important to run the right pressures though 32 front and 36 rear. They are fine in all weathers (it's a gs after all not a sports bike) and excellent for European dry, rocky trails - I wouldn't use them in muddy conditions though.

If you're going to use K60s you may as well run road tyres. The centre band renders them useless for offroad work of anything other than hardpack, which road tyres can do anyway.

I know I am a bore about it, but there is no such thing as a "50/50" tyre. There is a road tyre, and there is an offroad tyre, there are no in betweens despite what tyre makers marketing departments would like you to buy into.

just bought a set of anakee 3 for the gs water cooled off fleabay, done less than 200 miles last owner did not like them.

should be ok for road work and occasional off road (well up the pavement to costa coffee) only cost me £70 a pair

could not agree more mike on the 50/50 its alright for game shows but tyres ? if you want tyres for performance riding driving you dont get decent longevity and have to be prepared to cough up, ex supercharged busa and vrod owner

My K60s ARE road tyres, I use them for their longevity and good road going manners (thumbs)

They also happen to be good for hard stony trails such as Stella, Jafferau, Parpallion, Aragon HISS etc... when I'm on holiday.

If I need a 100% off road tyre I'll take my WR250R :cheer:
