Yeh, I'm not short of MX helmets, think I can reach out and put my hand on 3 from the kitchen table
The trouble with the Caberg was the peak vibrating, the rest of the helmet was ok, also the peak is just a slight nod to off road styling and is so short you can't even see it with the helmet on.
I like to use the peak on sunny days as it's far better than the flip down sun screens, but the sun screens are useful too.
I'm going to try to find a few of the suggest helmets to try on before I buy one as my one attempt at buying one on line has just gone back.

Motorcross helmet......Goggles only!!!!
Perhaps I misread the original post. I read it to mean he wanted an offroad helmet and wasn't bothered about a visor as it wasn't mentioned.

I've got a Uvex Enduro. It's absolutely brilliant. For this style of helmet it's very quiet (I don't have a screen on the bike) and it has an anti fog coating on the visor which works pretty well. The peak is long, can be set in height and doesn't vibrate. Don't do much motorway riding though but it holds up very well. Shame they stopped making them

i am trying the Givi adventure one at the moment, it,s the one that converts to open face and everything comes off it, peak, visor, front cone to make a summer lid, very comfy so far.

RIDE magazine's best buy in their recent test of this category of helmet was the Nexx X.D1.
No - me neither.

That's the cheaper version of the CF Touratech one.

I am rating my AGV AX8 Dual Sport lid at the moment, light, comfortable, bit noisy but it's the first peaked DS lid I've had. Reasonable price too at £240.
Not sure on the ventilation though, my visor still mists up in the dry with breath guard and vents open. But with my touring screen on the 990 I can ride with my visor open at 60mph so I always have it popped open a bit for fresh air.

Why all the good helmets use the stupid D-lock system ? I absolutely hate it , so fiddly and slow

You know I often think the same. I think it's something to do with the race approval thing.
