I feel I need to say this unfortunately
I know when we plan these weekends in advance we never really know if you will actually make it so it is a gamble when you book and pay
Personally we hope you make it to the event .
For the person organising it he has to :
Put in on the forum and find a bunkhouse and paying upfront with his own money at times
Recceing the route on his on time and money
Sorting mini buses out with emails to local businesses
Extra ride leaders who put time and effort at there own expanse to lead
If you can't turn up think about the time we have put into organising an event
As organisers of weekends we will try to fill It up with reserves if there's drop outs.
We will try and get your money back to you we really will.
But remember we might have booked things and last minute cancellations are not the organisers fault
You pay the money and if you can't make it what it's not the persons fault only yours
So trying to ask for money back when the have booked stuff pits them in a difficult situation

As I said I will always try to get money back as will other organisers
The reason these meets are so cheap is because we price them to the numbers coming to these events
It's hard to please everyone

Tea, ill kip in my van. Can i have my money back. And i may not need the return raxi back if i score with some chick. So can i have that back as well.

Just an example of what not to ask for. Unspoken rule is you cant beg for cash back if you cant attend. If the orgainser can get some cash back they will otherwise consider the cash gone. The organiser should not end up out of pocket. Completely agree with your post wee man.
