Meanwhile the French wing of the EDC (with Christophe taking the snaps from Canon and everyone else form iphone ) have left the fort and will head back to Midelt via Imilchil and the Cirque de Jaafare.

We stay in an auberge on the northern outskirts of the town which was newly built about 5 yrs ago.

The locals here work the land and work hard so there's all manner of vegetables to buy. You can hit the region raining or hit it dry at this time of year. It's cold at altitude too.

They'll stay in Midelt again and ride on by road to get the return ferry from Nador to Sète in France.

They have now mapped out a longer off road route for next years ride out. Job done. A debrief at home over the Winter weeks will pick out any pro's and con's.

So....we take a dander around the town, sit and watch the world go by and eat in the twin square for about a fiver or so.

Directly opposite the hotel are these steps which take you to the town centre square .

There's various side street workshops which are good to have a wee peep into and chat with the owners

It's also very old and blue......
