EU. In or out?

So it's kind of funny that people vote for an independent Britain but undermine just that in their daily lives.
(Not pointing any people out but you get the idea right?)
Your own government undermined the workforce (and the economy) by selling all sorts and closing down other industries because it suited them one way or another. Do you honestly think that will all come back and life will be good again ? I'd hate to disappoint you but...

I just bought tyres from Germany because they gave me a great personal saving over UK suppliers.
I want to leave the EU for our countries best interest not for my own personal interest. If their was no trade deal I would have happily paid the UK suppliers price. So is the EU good for the UK economy really? :whistle:

I think it is. Feel free to prove me wrong with some facts.
Why not make your economy better and buy all your stuff from a UK supplier anyway ?

I'd say that your country's best interest and your personal best interest are quite closely knit.

Better still, when did the EU last keep nuclear weapons on UK bases? When did they use the UK as a staging post for moving prisoners out of a war zone? It's easily forgotten what the US have done but cry about a potential EU army that probably won't be based in the UK.

Why do people keep pointing out things that we don't have a referendum on as a reason to not grab this opportunity while we have it?

Yes there are lots of things that need to change but we shouldn't just say fu** it to much needs changing lets not bother changing anything.

My bike needed chain sprockets but I didn't say Fu** it it also needs tyres and and an oil change so I wont bother doing any of it.

You fix one thing at a time.

All of a sudden I feel that if we leave the EU we'll be much safer and anything Putin does won't affect us :pinch:

It might be a better idea to put some distance between us and the US because it wasn't the EU we followed into Kuwait, Iraq and Afghanistan. It's not the EU who keep upsetting Putin by threatening to put anti missile defences up to cancel out anything Russia can do and it's not the EU with the carrier task forces making Putin strengthen his defences in the south of his country.

Really how many of the EU countries follow the septic into Iraq ? the French want us in the Euro army because we have a large army, Nato didn't stand up to Putin neither did the Yanks who like to pick on the little man rather than actually tackle someone their own size.

Putin is gain territory just like the leaders of the EU want to do (thumbs)

I'd say that your country's best interest and your personal best interest are quite closely knit.

Because I'm just one person and I make absolutely no difference to our economy as a whole. Whereas being out of the EU will make our retailers prices more appealing to everyone not just me. It wont make them cheaper but it will make them more appealing than buying abroad.
I didn't even think about ordering tyres from the US or China for fear of the import duty.

The USA has treated the UK as it's puppet since the Suez crisis when it finally became obvious that the UK no longer had the firepower or political clout to drive events on the world stage and successive governments have been only too eager to go along with it in return for whatever crumbs have been thrown their way.
The only time the UK has successfully gone against the wishes of the US was over the Falklands but then Margaret Thatcher was a one off.
If we're not in the EU there will be even less reason for the US to take any notice of us, the trade figures look big numbers but in terms of percentage GDP their exports to the UK are petty cash. The same applies to our military capability, our armed forces are good but we don't have the numbers or the resources, a situation that is unlikely to change.

If I thought that leaving the EU would end us acting like a puppet whenever the US jerked the strings I'd be voting out like a shot!

The problem as I see it is that we'll never put any distance between us and the colonials and if Trump gets elected he'll cause more friction with Putin than an EU army will ever do which is why I find people using a potential EU army as a reason to leave a bit bewildering. It wouldn't mean we left NATO so we'd still be under their umbrella and I can't see the EU taking on Putin unless they're told to by big brother.

your votes may not matter, just been talking to some Irish people I know and one of the comments off one of the younger guys was "there's a push in Ireland to get the Irish people over here who can vote to vote in for the benefit of southern Ireland"

So what should be a "British" vote wont be :whistle:

Britain will be forced to join an EU ARMY unless we leave, says Armed Forces Minister

THE Minister in charge of Britain's military has become the first member of the Government to confirm that if the UK remains under Brussels control it will be forced to join an EU army.

Armed Forces Minister Penny Mordaunt made the warning following revelations in the Daily Express that the Lisbon Treaty obliges Britain to join the EU Army.

It also follows further shocking revelations that a plan to create it will be tabled the day after the Britain's EU referendum in a bid to keep the nightmare scenario hidden from British.
