I wouldn't call anything in this Dakar a formality until crossing the finish line (thumbs)

honda and barreda must be pissed off .the fastest rider by far .......but thats not wins dakar !!!!!
WOULD HAVE BEEN A DIFFERENT STOREY FOR THE ORANGE LOT without the penalty !!!!!!!!!!!!

Come on now early thread Doomers, how can you not be inspired and enthralled by this years Dakar. A Brit winning, 4/5 finishing and a stirling effort from Kurt Burroughs with not a molecule of shame at all, fantastic result all round..!!

What we need is some millionare biker/offroader types to front up some dosh and start a 'Dakar' school/camp/team what with the british talent pool of riders we have, try and get the numbers up on entry's. I'm damn sure there wouldn't be a shortage of potential volunteer entrants for such an idea...!!!

Cheating does not win either. They do not give out penalties for fun.

They broke the rules and must have had a gainful reason to do so.
How do we know the 17 minute difference would not have been negated if they had not illegally refueled.
