Lord Vader,
On your recently posted pics (F-17,500miles, R-5,000miles), what pressures and load did you typically run in those Scouts to get what appears to be pretty uniform wear across the tread radius?
Thanks, Curt

I rode Pete's bike for a bit and then he followed me and Steve T on some very fast twisties and hairpins up in Scotland (16 miles in 16 minutes on the A712 Newton Stewart to New Galloway) - that pressure sure rounded the tyres off and gave his heart a great workout let alone the bike and tyres !!CurtisGS wrote:Lord Vader,

Seriously - not sure what he runs as tyre pressures

Of course I followed you. I could hear the banjo's playing in the forest and was scared you would leave me behind.Paul-S wrote:I rode Pete's bike for a bit and then he followed me and Steve T on some very fast twisties and hairpins up in Scotland (16 miles in 16 minutes on the A712 Newton Stewart to New Galloway) - that pressure sure rounded the tyres off and gave his heart a great workout let alone the bike and tyres !!CurtisGS wrote:Lord Vader,

That was one brilliant ride, still makes me smile from ear to ear. That was workout ok, my poor bike still goes pale when I even mention Scotland. Mention Paul's name and she will not even start
Hmmm pressure. Now that's my only problem with these tyres . I am loosing constantly air on both front and rear. It escapes from the rim so I have to top up every second day which can be a pain. Now as some on here know my technical knowledge is legendary, as in non existing. I am very good at riding around any problems I have with my bikes so to ask me technical questions is a big lottery game. Actually I reckon your chances to win the lottery are bigger then getting a correct technical answer from me.
About my front type pressure ( please promise you won't come along and stone me) I start with 3bar and top up again when the pressure gets below 2 bar again.
I was just lucky that my mental ride with Steve and Paul fell into the right pressure range

Pete, now can you imagine roads tighter and twistier done at that pace - 155 miles in 4 1/2 hrs and no straights - absolute heaven - tyres were given a very hard time on our recent Pyrenees tripLord Vader wrote:Of course I followed you. Ordered a set of K60 M&S from Mynetmoto in Germany on Wednesday morning for £109 delivered . Guess what. They arrived this morning. I wanted to try out the M&S for a while now. The pattern is the old style K60 but apparently a softer compound. It will be interesting to see how many miles I get out of them. I am usually fairly easy on my tires and get lots more miles out of them than other guys . My current K60 scout front tire on my GSA has now done 18000 miles and I am sure I can get that up to 20000.

I see they have no centre band, are they the right size/profile?Lord Vader wrote:Ordered a set of K60 M&S from Mynetmoto in Germany on Wednesday morning for £109 delivered . Guess what. Yes they are. The ones with the centre band are the new scout , these are the M&S which still have the old K60 pattern . I got the scout on my GSA and like them a lot but I wanted to see the difference in mileage I get out of them and how they behave in the wet. I commute all year round even in ice and snow so I am looking for a decent tire to get me through winter.
P.s. and mud and puddles , lanes ,fords ......

Now taking my scouts off while I type and putting Karoos on for tomorrows off road excursions, I would really like a link to where you got them as I also commute all year round, but already fed up with swapping from K60s to TK's or Karoos to go off road when its wet, but want half decent mileage.
Finally back on a GS
