Wasn't the CX Honda's attempt at outdoing Guzzi and the V50? Same basic design, push rod engine with shaft drive but liquid cooled.

I have the Tuareg 660, went 14 days heavy offroad. Only had to replace the fuse for the rear lights. The suspension is wonderful! A miracle! My friend, who had a 'bullet proof' Husky 701 had several problems. I had double the fuel range, way more comfort. But in gnarly situations you''ll need to bring some rope and a pulley to lift her over the dead angle, especially when she is with tank down.

How about a VFR1200x Crosstourer...? Shaft drive, V4...I've never ridden one but I have ridden a standard VFR1200 and that was a nice bike (although maybe a bit big).
Suzuki GSX-S1000F...the KTM 450 EXC-R has gone

Ah .. a Honda ..Scott_rider wrote: ↑Fri Jul 28, 2023 10:18 am How about a VFR1200x Crosstourer...? Shaft drive, V4...I've never ridden one but I have ridden a standard VFR1200 and that was a nice bike (although maybe a bit big).
Reading this I am aware that my bike choices are purely Honda.
Also, on the general thread, I don't even know about these 'strange and exotic' bikes.
I don't even know the Honda complete range.
Must admit, I have a painful hankering for a big powerful Honda with shaft drive. O .. and good weather protection.
I was talking to an NT1100 new, owner last week and he was disappointed with it.
I had an ST pan 1100 .. Great.. but too heavy for parking.
I can feel a bike shop visit looming. Having no funds atm, (even out of the atm lol,) is irrelevant lol

So, I recommend the OP to look at the Honda range ...
actually, the AT may be a good option?
non dct, this time?

Re: Looking for a new bike, but what to go for???
I just looked at you tube, 15 best honda bikes 2023,
Wot a load of grey box-chunky fuggly shite.
The only 2 that twitched a twitch were the goldwing and the crf300Rally
Didn't see the Crosstourer there?
But that computer designed chunky greyness put me well off .. or was that just the for-future show colours?
