I did the Fred Rist in either 2015 or 2016 its a great Trial, the year I did it it rained and rained. I did it on a Gas Gas 250 EC that drank petrol at a frightening rate so much so that I had to cut the last two sections because I was on reserve

Looks like the Pampera is the tool--going up the streams is bad enough, its the getting out of them thats the really difficult bit.

That's Wales...it's not a stream boy, it's a path!

I thought they weren't eligible due to tank size and wheel base with a minimum of 5L and 1350mm but just checked and the Pampera is 1330 and XL185's which were once the choice bikes are 1310mm. I have seen them on the Exeter trial but that's a different game again.

We have classic trials in the Stroud/Dursley area of Gloucestershire including the March Hare run by Golden Valley Classic https://www.gvcmcc.club/
some old lanes and some shorter sections in Breakheart quarry country park.
This area of the Cotswolds has a long association with bike trials with Baughan motorcycles being built in Stroud and Harry Baughan organising many of the Welsh ISDT events

Launceston Club puts 4 Rides, Alp 2.0s, Honda TRLs and a few others in a sub-class.

To be honest, buying the best bike won't get you much advantage...I think a guy on a BSA C15 cleaned every section, but I'd have to check the result. The old British bikes with their heavy flywheels do really well if they keep running...they are also excused the tough restart on Angel Steps which would kill their clutches. I was going surprisingly well on Angel Steps, until I was confronted with a car sliding back down the hill towards me so I didn't get to the restart.

I recall once seeing a ghost on a Gloucestershire green lane. Early morning mist, and suddenly chugging towards me was an old guy on a British bike...like something out of the 1950s. It was only after the third such had passed me that I realised it was a trial not an apparition!

In the Tamar, there were 3 different B classes

B1 = Beta Alp, Sherco TY, XL185, and Honda C90!

B2 = Sherco Cross ride (and he was cross, it broke down before he got to the start line), Enduro bikes, X-Trainers, Pamperas, XR400 etc,

B3 = 4 Ride, Scorpa SY 250, Honda TLR
