..... is stupid enough to think you can change the weather by giving more money to the Government, so I wouldn’t be too sure on that

.. but to be fair, the government at least make a show of investing in alternative means of producing energy; wind, solar, bio fuel, tidal etc, and a bit of geothermal? .. but don't you think this Ethanol thing is just the (gradually more progressive) stick to be placed alongside the carrot of `less pollution`? .. I mean, the raising of fuel prices, with less efficiency and more hidden problems (especially for older vehicles) with the aim? of getting rid of these `older` `problem` fossil fuel vehicles ... so that the lure of Electric vehicles becomes more palatable, and even more socially responsible?

The fact she is young is irrelevant, if she was 40 would that make a difference?

The fact she is a girl (female) is also irrelevant, if she was male would that make a difference?

Anyone, any age or gender, who goes around pontificating about climate change without providing workable solutions is fair game.

She is correct that there are serious climate / global problems, but we all knew that already. My issue with her is that her media profile is bigger than her knowledge; just turning up to bleat and have her ass kissed is not going to change anything.

For Bojo and his clowns, I fear that it's all show and no go.

Unless he can line the pockets of his pals, he won't do anything.

Climate change reversal is really simple, just undo the damage. The hard part is doing that without destroying the way of life of the current generations of voters (who in essence make the (selfish) decisions) or those developing countries who cannot afford to do as we could. Add in those who don't give a shit and those too stupid to realise the extent of the problem and you come to the conclusion that we are, in essence, simply fu**ed.

I believe that humans will continue to destroy the environment to the extent where we become pretty much extinct, which in terms of the planet, will be no bad thing. I'm old enough that it won't affect me greatly, but I feel sorry for the youngsters. Planet of the Apes anyone?

She doesn't have to know everything. She is there to raise awareness and to help keep the story in the media, something which she was hugely successful at. She is also there to motivate younger people into thinking about their choices. Being old I have no idea if she's done that.
And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.

I have some K bikes, from 83 to 97. I have run them all on E10 in France and Spain and no difficulty. The problem for most is ethanol attracts water and also attacks some seals and plastics so you cant leave bikes sitting. The 1983 and 1984 bikes I have are specced for leaded petrol but I have put over 60k miles on one of them and 10k miles on the other using E5 and E10 and not had issues although I can tell the difference between E5 and E10. I use E5 in preference if its available.

Olaf, injected bikes are far less likely to have a problem as there is minimal fuel sitting about in the injection system and the pressure rail will return unused fuel keeping things churned up. The only issue with Ks is the tank shape where there is a pocket halfway down the side which collects water/ethanol and this is a corrosion hotspot for the aluminium tanks and will perforate them if left.

Do the ethanol fuel stabalizers work... Xt660z double skin plastic tank when left for 2 months in a garage in a house over winter... So min temp is 15c...

Also do all premium high octane fuels in UK contain zero ethanol...

Thanks for knowledgeable feedback..... I know in France all 97 octane does not contain ethanol.

Its not just a tank issue unfortunately. The ethanol does also attack the fuel pump mounting damper and turns it to mush, I use the bikes all the time and none is left sitting for long before it gets its turn out. Ethanol resistant dampers are available now but many Ks still have original damper mountings.
