A little 300+ mile wander today, taking in the best section of the NC500 before heading south on a lesser used road along the side of Loch Shin.
Drizzle to start the ride from near Elgin, with no blue sky visible till I’d past Contin, heading towards Ullapool. Then nothing but blue skies, reet warm roads and not too many tourists = BLISS

A small map to clue you into where on the west coast I wandered . . .

Growing to really like this machine, with its ability to trickle along the tiny single track roads, to blatting along when the road allows, all the time more than happy to swing from side to side.

We might have passed each other as I stopped in Tain over the weekend and yesterday headed up to the north coast, out of the fog just before Altnahara past Dun Dornaigil Broch and then onto the Stoer Head lighthouse. Loads of tourists at Durness, everywhere else wasn't too bad. Quick ice cream stop at Achiltibuie and then back to the murk at Tain. Will get some pictures up later.

Headed out from Tain and saw the sun close to Altnahara, then off up a delightful road to the Dun Dornaigil broch, past Loch Eribol and it's tombola, then to the "delights" of Durness, must be unpleasant for those who went to live there to escape the madding crowd. Lunch stop at Balnakiel beach then onto the B869, the northern extension to the Wee Mad Road, and then off to the Stoer Head lighthouse which was in and out of the clouds. Stunning to the mountains of Assynt and southwards. Wee Mad road as fun as ever, when the 4 wheeled users realised that it's only a narrow road  Back to Tain via Knockan Crag and Bonar Bridge.

I'd add pictures but keep on getting a "http error" warning :(
