Well after 1200 mls of road riding they have 2 small 1cm abrasion holes the material is very thin and needs a hard backing like orlieb use... To stop abrasions... ...

Same on both panniers where they rubbed against a pannier rail mounting bolt..

These are going on ebay...

Sounds like you had a damp trip Russ , how was the bike ?

I'd be interested to see some more overall/zoomed out pics.
I've been (and still am, despite this post) considering these as for the price they seem like excellent value. Even if that means throwing a few quid and home mods to improve them.

If they rubbed against a pannier frame bolt then I'm not surprised!--its not a fair criticism really--as I said I have both Lomo and Ortleib and I agree that the foam inner protection on the Ortleibs is better--but as I said before they are better for offroad. It sounds like you need to address the protrusion (bolt head )issue first and also stop them moving about--I have to say that running throwovers is not as simple as you might expect and you really need to make sure that they don't rub or flap--or use Ortleibs! I use both with no problems whatsoever.

A mate is going to glue some 560gm truck tarpaulin on to the weak bit .....

there you go--at the price they have already done a decent trip and with some mods will serve you well.

Think the poster was refering to his gloves and yes lomo dry bags are good its the sewing of the straps thats shall we say not built for job... They are after all throw over panniers...

Sorry I missed this so coming to it a bit late. Yes Tramp, it was gloves well remembered and my comment was to highlight my experience of their customer service not their panniers. Seems a bit odd RandG thinks I would be making it up

A group of us went to Cambodia back in February this year for 2 weeks and 4 or 5 of us had the Lomo panniers - from memory no one suffered any wear and tear or damage to them and they got some pretty harsh use, riding a lot of off road as well as tarmac.

I used a roc strap on mine between the two carry handles just to take some of the strain off.
