Far too nice a description, if you ask me.AirbusPaul wrote:Not a bad description (thumbs)Allan F wrote:Blair is a dirty lying smug c**t. Made millions at f**cking up the UK.
I've no idea how to add a signature.
Re: The Chilcot enquiry
Yep, that was the case and Chilcott does mention it I believe and the Vote was passed with a big majority.nickoff wrote:I have no time for Tony Blair whatsoever and I would love to know what information he really had with regards to the supposedly "weapons of mass distruction". But if I remember correctly the whole of parliament had a free vote on the matter.
Nick.
However, I suspect the journalist who was intervied on R4 last night had it right when he said that "the report will never satisfy, and people will pull from it what they want to prove or support their views..." Cynical, moi?
TBH, the Yanks are as culpable in the whole sorry affair and the biggest screw up IMO was the complete lack of planning by the crazy right wingers in the American administration for post war rebuilding. Essentially they were so insistent on removing every bit of Iraqi administration expertise in case they were tainted from the Baathist party and boom, Bloody Chaos. There was a body of thought at the time that said the Iraqi army should have been allowed to retain it's command structure, and history has cetainly proved that point...

Re: The Chilcot enquiry
the yanks are pushing hard for the whole affair to be put aside. They had no plans whatsoever to sort out the situation after, they simply thought everyone would love the yanks being there.
I can remember a film clip of a high ranking yank officer jumping out of a vehicle to take control.
He spoke to the village elder asking him why he not been in touch, the elder looked bemused, the yank then said why have you not told us about the bad men, he looked even more bemused, the yank said "you could of phoned us"
Elder "can't no phone system"
yank "why not"
Elder "you blew it up"
Yank "you could of used your mobile"
Elder "you blew that up as well"
Yank "oh well see this mobile phone, it represents democracy, I bought it and if I didn't like I could take it back"
elder looks even more bemused
Yank jumps in vehicle and speeds off, the camera pans around to see lots of sqaudies laughing and one saying "what the f...."
no idea
