am trying to send pics this way, note small grey clip in bottom of pannier, holder just slips into this and the strap round the top holds it in place, I have made the bottom of bracket in 2mm steel as ali tends to work harden which will crack and could fail.
I have a 25mm ali bar to finish side bar. and a small cleat at top to fit bungie to .
if you need any more just ask regards rikki (heavy).

Re: POP UP TENTS...
Guys,
I had a look at the site redmurty posted (SLUMIT) and have taken the plunge and ordered the 3 man tent.
Watching the video it looks the dogs and with the 10% discount pretty cheap at £110.
Hopefully it will be as easy to erect and put down as it shows on the vid.
If it doesnt arrive in time may just buy the pop up anyway for this trip.
Ill let you know how the SLUMIT rates when I get back.
Cheers
Wayne

Re: POP UP TENTS...
Well I started this thread over 2 years ago and ended up buying the SLUMIT tent which lasted for a couple of trips then got thrown in the bin due to the high winds collapsing the arms and the tent...anyway Im back on the hunt for a pop up tent. Not a quick erect one but a pop up one.
Since I last commented on this thread there seems to have been loads of new pop up tents coming on to the market. Some 2, 3, 4 or even 5 man and you can get them now double skinned but they still seem easy to "pop" up.
Anyone tried a pop up tent recently? For example the new Coleman range of pop up tents look quite good. Anyone tried them?

Had a few good weekends camping his year and back last night from the most recent one.waynecoluk wrote:Well I started this thread over 2 years ago and ended up buying the SLUMIT tent which lasted for a couple of trips then got thrown in the bin due to the high winds collapsing the arms and the tent...anyway Im back on the hunt for a pop up tent. I have looked at the pop up tents over the years, yes they do most certainly pop up easily. But they all seem to be very low hydrostatic head [HH] ratings at 1000 and 1500. For any decent weather protection 3000mm HH is to be regarded as a minimum.
The other thing is that every camp site I see them it becomes a great source of amusement watching folk trying to pack them up the morning they are leaving. I must admit that on a wet morning having a pitch first tunnel tent you can pack everything away in panniers and top box inside the tent, including the inner tent and ground sheet, put on bike gear all in the dry, pop them on the bike and then do a fast grab for the flysheet and poles and strap them on way faster than a pop up tent will pack away.

It's all in your wrist action 92kk
I think most of the pop up tents are for transport in a car to festivals, and for leaving behind by the look of some of the aftermath photos!
But if you can get the hang of it they pack away nearly as fast as you can pop them up, they're also small enough to put up in the house to dry out when you get home.
Plus when you're borrowing it off your son it's revenge time to hand it back muddy n wet.

Yes, they are like an early morning wrestling match. The alternative which is also popular, is to leave the damned thing there, aka festival camping....!!92kk k100lt 193214 wrote:
