Mike - out of interest which RST suit did you go for?

I'm on the lookout for a new one as, mine has now started to seep water after several years hard use and don't want to spend a fortune replacing.

Thanks

Alex

I think Klim are a bit like Apple products now in that they work very well, do the job required of them very well and because of this have popularity to 'the general public' and not just 'die hard' users.

Klim do some more basic stuff now with less pockets etc and the price is comparable with other good gear. The key ingredient in Klim gear is that the goretex is bonded to the fabric so its only one layer--its definitely the choice for genuine offroad wear--if you can afford it--you don't have to keep stripping off and on and the fabric dries quickly as it hasn't soaked up all the moisture on its way through to any separate goretex inner. Thats why its a bit expensive, and for road work you are NOT exerting all the effort required to stay upright offroad--so basically there is an abundance of reasonable gear for road work--most of which does not work offroad.

Bought a bright yellow aerostich roadcrafter of eBay for a couple of hundred quid, I look a twat, and even more so as I've a fluro lid too, but it's fantastic... I'd pay full whack for a new one... I get a better colour though....

The only jacket I have owned that i can fasten around my neck with and without a wooly neck tube thing on.

So far it has kept me warm in sub zero conditions ( enough room for cosy jumpers ) and it has never leaked, even after a 14 hour ride in the rain without a over suit thing.

And even after dozens of low speed off's it still looks good (does need to be washed tho)

Even in hot climes there is enough vents to keep me happy.

But the bright logos are a bit twattish and intial outlay is £££££...

I think I look a twat when I try and take my helmet off before removing sunglasses....

More for off road as others have said, but if you can afford it why not. laminated is much better as others have said as it doesnt soak up water which can make you feel cold.

I bought the rst adventure 2 suit recently for my Spain trip, got it delivered for £400, we'll chuffed with it, with all the vents it kept me comfortable even in 35 degree sunshine.

So many pockets and little details, they have thought of virtually everything, very pleased.
