Ha ha! I never knew that! I used a Vango for a few yrs but replaced it with a Gelert following a very windy night in Glen Nevis!

A mate of mine had a 350 Beta when we did the Stella a couple of yrs ago, it was fine for almost two weeks but on the 2nd last stop two of the poles snapped. No obvious reason, put the tent up and around 15 mins later we heard the 1st snap, sitting having a beer we heard the next one go snap a few mins later. I wonder if it was down to how Andy had strapped his tent on to the bike? maybe the bungees had split or weakened the GRP? As my Vango suffered from a broken pole due to horrendous wind then Andy's snapping for no apparent reason I changed to the Gelert Tornado. Survived gale force winds last season so recommended! (That and £29.99 price tag!)

I got last years Spectre 200, its been great, beamy enough for riding kit and me.
Two draw backs though you gotta crawl in (which i,m normally doing before getting back to the tent) and no porch space but good enough for me on me tod.
Real men ride twins ;-)

And at 4.5 kg and small pac size, its brill size to weight there is plenty of room in the porch to cook and sit 2 people on chairs.Iv done my research on tents, for what i want and this came out on top for me.

Hey Numptyspence , I`ve just bought the Gobi 2 as I find my Saunders Jetpacker a bit small . Have you tried it out in windy conditions yet ? as that seems to be [ on paper ] the weakest thing about them .
