I live only 5 miles from Stonehenge and it's definately worth a look.While in general area have a ride through cheddar gorge.As for Wales you really do want to ride through the Brecon beacons.

Loch lomand to loch ness along the a82 is a fantastic route.Riding through glencoe is an unforgettable experience.What you might like to try is as you approach loch ness is take a left onto the a87 which is one of the most stunning roads I have ridden anywhere in Europe.Just b4 the isle of Skye on the a87 is the Eilean Donan castle which is also worth a visit.While on the subject of castles half way up loch ness is Urquhart castle which yet again is worth a visit.

If you have the time then you could keep on heading West past Stone Henge along the A303. It's fairly fast but with some pretty scenery. Then head north towards Glastonbury and Wells before heading across to Wales. By staying off the motorways and the dual carriageways you'll see some of the best of the UK. Farmers re camping in the UK? I've done that, it works too, but it can be time consuming... If it were me on your trip I'd try it at least a couple of times just for the hell of it and for the chance to meet people. Have a great trip!!!

Some of them get you from the rear. I've a photo to prove it

Our yellow boxes take photos from behind, so they're just as applicable to bikes. Perhaps unlike many other countries, they do tend to be well advertised! (You can go on official websites to see where they are, for example: http://safespeedforlife.co.uk/cam-locations.asp )

Anyway, that's missing the point - the Scottish Borders and Northumberland (my home area) is a great part of the world, so take it easy and enjoy the scenery!

So it's better to take the A82 along the north west shore of Loch Ness instead of the south eastern route along the loch?

Don't want to pour water on your great idea but 5-6 days to see the best bits of the UK avoiding motorways is perhaps expecting too much.
