I can see a yellow round thing in the sky my kids say its called the sun......i saw it in books once

Loads on Innes estate when I was working the dogs there on Saturday / Monday. There are even some in sunny Lhanbryde ;)

That looks like a stunning example of the German Metzler variant you've grown there. I've tried growing the French Michelin variety as well as the Italian Pirelli version, all without success! Some have suggested the newly emerging Korean Maxxis variety might prove a good grower!

Should I maybe try a British variety, such as Avon, as I've heard they are quite hardy and should be able to survive the weather this far north?

Your thoughts on my "growing" problem greatfully received.
