I travel to Morzine in the French Alps a lot so may use that as a base and pan out from there. I fancy cutting my teeth in Blighty first for a few days after a night in the garden testing kit!
Then over to the Alps; Switzerland into north Italy and The Lakes towards the end of August. Followed next year by Spain and then North Africa......

do you need 3 pairs of trousers and 2 fleece tops each? 1 of each would do, they dont get pongy like keks and tee's do.
as well as your riding jackets, pac-a-mac type waterproofs are brilliant and take no room.
if you are going to be washing clothes then 3 teeshirts and sets of undies and socks are plenty, 1 on, 1 clean and dry to change into when needed, 1 drying. yesterdays teeshirt is todays towel, though i also have one of those kinky microfibre towels that feel like your rubbing yourself with a giant flat hamster or something.
about gas stoves, in europe you can get the little piercable cans almost everywhere, but the screw on type are quite hard to find. its worth investing in an adaptor so you can use piercables on screw type stoves.

I take 2 tee shirts and one polo.
2 bike tee shirts alternating each day
1 pair of jeans and 1 pair of shorts
1 fleece
2 pairs of socks
2 pairs of bike socks alternating each day.
6 pairs of undies
1 pair of plimsoles.
This will do me for a 2 week trip.
washing if I get the chance.
I use a mini trangia stove.
I also bring a few tins of food and buy wine and beer.
