Bike Stolen

Post by fatowl »

Well, I'm f****d. Stopped for the night at the Holiday Inn Express, Oulton, near Leeds and woke up this morning to find my bike had gone. Stolen.
It's a Honda NC750DCT in black. A 2025 model. A month old.
I now have to get home somehow :-(
Please keep your eyes open for WN25 ZRG.
Thanks.

What a bummer, sorry to hear that. On tour myself atm so not nice to hear. Assuming bike lock and alarm, is this a case of a van pulling up and some guys manhandling it into the back and away?

Really sorry to read that.
To be honest, that’s what’s putting me off going back to UK road touring after a few decades.
When we have been trail riding we have always put the bikes in a van overnight.
2022 Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro sadly gone due to ill health.
Now on a 2025 Triumph Scrambler 400X but may be fitter next year.

That’s always a dread. Just got back from Spain myself, hotels & hostels all the way, but most importantly, apart from twin beds, is secure parking.

I've managed to get home now with all my luggage, well apart from the stuff that wasn't in the "frunk", that's gone forever. £450 ! But at least I'm home.

Yep. Again, really sorry to hear that. Unfortunately that type of premises along with premier inns etc are easy targets for the Scrotes. I prefer the smaller places bit off track, but before I book I must be sure it has SECURE PARKING. The UK is full of theives with no real deterrents. Any hope at all from the police or insurance?

Police are not doing much (anything). Insurance are being totally useless so far. Their week-end staff know nothing and can prove it, we have to speak to their mon-fri staff. I'm not expecting to see it again.
BTW, I try always to choose a hotel away from housing, and out of the way, and lock the bike up. This time, it didn't work.

Really hope you get lucky. Makes my blood boil, they should be knee capped if caught.
