Hello fellow engineers and bodgers...I'm thinking of making a cut down screen for the xt660z out-of black hdpe sheet 2mm thick..I've a screen but for offroad it's huge and replacement screens are crazy price..
So do you think 2mm isnthick enough...its just a short heigh screen with no wings to deflect water and rocks...
Thanks
Hdpe sheet uses?

2mm will be fine Russ, although Lexan would be better. If you can, introduce a slight curve or edge returns into the design (to stiffen it) so much the betterTramp wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 6:04 pm Hello fellow engineers and bodgers...I'm thinking of making a cut down screen for the xt660z out-of black hdpe sheet 2mm thick..I've a screen but for offroad it's huge and replacement screens are crazy price..

It's actually a 3l fuel tank, the light does need rethinking but seeing as it was a summer trip to Iceland, I didn't think I needed one.Ksithumper wrote: ↑Wed Jan 17, 2024 6:06 amTidy job that little fairing extension, Snaf.
