No touring yet.
Only day trips. But many one day trips....
It has taken some time to fix the Benelli. But now I have solved that.
The Honda has received a new rear disk. And a new luggage bag.
The bike was tested today in the hills
=> Bikes are now "ready"
I have some appointments with doctors within 2 weeks.
Then it will be to late for the Pyrenees.
Another time ?
But I hope to do a 2 week touring in Andalusia during second half of October.
Camping
And already tomorrow, we will do a gravel tour.
So a lot of activities, even without touring.

Honda NX 4
Is a 400 cc a small bike ?
Well maybe not in cc.
But 151 kg wet is small.
Seat height : I do not have numbers. But I guess around 840 mm. OK for me.
New disk: New bag that I ordered and just got delivered: And with the already existing top case It is ready to be used.

New small touring bike, UM DSR
At least for me, this is a new model.
UM DSR Adventure TT
125 cc, 136 kg, 15 hp, 21" front wheel, seat 815 mm
That you can get with more or less luggage system.
Rack for Shad equipment.
Top model with 23 liter side panniers and 33 liter top case.
This opting makes this model interesting. Such a small bike. With a standard luggage system.
https://umiberica.com/pt/trail/dsr-adve ... 0c9b1-5b3c
But,
Chinese ?
Price is close to bigger bikes.
4 000 € for base model
4 300 € for top model
=
4 800 € for Voge 300 rally. But then you have no luggage system

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
Now that last one is definitely a small bike.
I’ve seen a couple of the XR125l around in France and can’t help love them. Basically the better version of some of the Chinese bikes which you can load up well and your on them. Lovely and light for off road

Honda
I know that you are a Honda fan
Honda Brazil produces many small bikes that we do not see here
https://motos.honda.com.co/motos-honda/todo-terreno
Examples
XR150L and XR190L
The XR 190L was a cheap and basic bike in Colombia.
Drum brake rear. No fancy stuff.
My favorite.
I wish they imported them here.
==
They had some laws for import taxes. That made imported bikes over 200 cc expensive.
So the great majority of bikes where 160-200 cc.
Mainly from India (TVS) and China.
A 300 cc Honda was considered a big and expensive bike,
Very rare to see.
Very different from Europe.
Where 300-390 cc are cheap entry level bikes.
Middle class is now 700-900 cc (Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, BMW, KTM....)
And big bike is now 1300 cc. New BMW.
Crazy for us old guys. That considered Honda CB 750 a super bike. And Kawasaki Z1 (900 !!)

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
I wonder if the UK will get the new Vstrom 250? It's arrived in Asia, Australia, and South Africa...25bhp single cylinder, 168kg. It seems to get a good enough review from what I've seen on YouTube.

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
Just looked online and Suzuki say its a twin. I looks great to me but it has a euro 4 engine so I don't think we will see it.Scott_rider wrote: ↑Tue Oct 03, 2023 2:11 pm I wonder if the UK will get the new Vstrom 250? And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
The new model is definitely a single.
...a Vstrom 250SX (single)...the current bike is a Vstrom 250 (twin)
...but I think the 'old' model it's still sold 'new' in some markets...so there are two different '23 Vstrom250's...
This is the new one
