...it would be good for someone to put the same argument for closure to them that they use against us...Richard Simpson Mark II wrote: ↑Wed Oct 27, 2021 5:13 pm https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-58997247

Re: Walking 'destroys footpaths'
if i remember correctly, all footpaths must be registered before 2026, crow 2000 act, ..the ramblers feel like they are `winning` now, against bikers ... but they are in for a shock when they find their old ancient rights cut off. Bikers may feel victimised right now, but its all part of the Tory cunning plan to restrict the rights of commoners to access to their land of gentry and chums.
it is more difficult to reclaim, than prevent loss (of access).
We should all, us commoners, group together to fight for our diminishing rights ... but of course, ramblers are not really commoners, are they?
What point is there really, in a `liberal Democracy` for limiting public access to `our` landscape??? ....

Re: Walking 'destroys footpaths'
actually, it is terrible ...
walking destroys footpaths .. thousands of tons of harcore needed eg in Pen y Fan foot trail, increasing helicopter emissions,
cars damage tarmac ... look at all the potholes for gawds sake, and all that electricity used in reporting them,
horses shit and rip up bridle paths, and are a hazard to innocent trail riders, not to mention the methane emissions,
rail tracks are fatal to winter leaves, and cause huge obstruction to hard working commuters, and the leaves are not even green,
Insulation is a great hazard to London superglue roads, using low police resources, and showing MET effectiveness,
Air is damaged by con trails and are often not even artistic, unless reported by Sky News,
Sea water is heavily polluted by diesel tankers bringing diesel to UK diesel pumps so that high emissions can be maintained,
it really is a bad state of affairs .... new roads are banned here in Wales ... at least that is a start ..
