We continue south back towards Moffat on the A708, with a quick stop at the Grey Mares Tail
We continued through Moffat and onto Dumfries, a few miles on the A75 to Crocketford, then right onto the A712 to New Galloway. Then it was back down the Queens Way to Newton Stewart.

At Newton Stewart its back on the A75 to just after Glenluce then we made our way down to the Mull of Galloway. A stunning spot with a great cafe.
A fitting location for the end of the trip. From here it was back to Cairnryan to catch the ferry home for me and another 300 miles home for Jon
A great part of Scotland and Northumberland and a great alternative to the Highlands if you have not got much time on your hands

Great review with great photos
I can never understand why most bikers speed past the area to go north
One of my favourite areas, I will be up there in a week or two again but don’t tell most people

Thanks Eric - enjoy your upcoming visit
As a foot note - most of the roads we were on were very quiet traffic wise & most of the car drivers we met in the minor roads pulled in to let us past.
Hopefully it wont be too long before I get back there.

Thanks guys, I know the homeland very well, we used to explore on our Yamaha Raptor 700s and then Can-Am Renegades all over the hills and roads in the Galloway forest, I even still have my keys for the gates
I'll check out the ABR route.
Sorry, wrong thread
told you I was new here LOL
