Lol shit design for sure... My 12 year old xt660z had solid crash pads.. Never broken one yet.... Thought the T7 was supposed to be a world adventure bike.... Sure the defects will be rectified in the 2nd edition models....

Yes the plastic fairing mounts are also a cheap fragile affair.
I’ve been using throw over panniers without side racks and despite the bike being on its side several times the mounts haven’t broken yet however after reading reports of side panels mounts shearing off I’ve decided to glue in some buttresses cut out of a bottle top bucket I had kicking around.

bloody ell thought the xt660z tank off was hard but at least the plugs in a normal side place and easily accessed .....

And I see yamaha have used the same fuel line connector ...cheap snappy plastic we have replaced it with a much stronger alloy metal one and its so easy to release ...so much for a "totally new design" raided the parts bin again ..

Tener lady was easy Russ compared to x challenge, got to take air box, side panels, and more, and if like me you've got the twat tank, that's gotta come off as well.......plus there's two plugs.

I fitted some Rally Raid soft luggage racks today. Very impressed with the quality, it was a bit of a faff to line everything up as I already have a SW Motech rack but they even supply the spacers for them to fit that application.

That should give the exhaust hanger bracket the extra rigidity it needs to stop it bending inwards if you drop the bike on that side.
I had to bend mine back out when I noticed the exhaust was grazing the swing arm.

I've never had a pair of those but Minky may be able to answer that as I'm sure he has those panniers. As you can see from the photos there are lots of tying off points on the racks.

They look really good. It would be nice if they were able to fold upwards and lock in place to make a lovely picnic table, or an easel for watercolours, or flower pressing perhaps.
