I wonder if "Hydrophobic siliconised 3M Thinsulate platinum insulation" means....

Probably not: I would say that it is more likely to be waterproof padding for warmth. Whatever it is, it works: they are both warm and waterproof.

Re: Can you recommend some waterproof gloves?
I know you want to avoid big gloves riding green lanes but I use a pair of old BMW ProWinter gloves. Warm and waterproof after many years of use. I normally carry a pair of lighter gloves on the offchance it might warm up. They're not particularly bulky and do the job. Road riding I wimp out and use Gerbing heated gloves, seem to be waterproof as well as very warm.
Just along for the ride.

Knox make gloves and, as you can imagine, they offer lots of protection.
The Zero 3 winter gloves are warm and waterproof, a little bulky but okay. The linings don’t pull out either

Thanks for the advice, Bob. Always welcome. I think that is probably the last glass I ever dropped, but it's clearly made a mark in your memory. That stuff is too precious to be throwing it around...diggermanbob wrote: ↑Thu Nov 19, 2020 10:24 am Klim powerxcross dave , keep your hands warm and dry so when you get home you won't drop that glass of wine
I enjoyed that Normandy trip. Great trails - much better than I thought they would be.
