Wine bottles fit nicely in motorcycle boots, and boots tend to be more stable. If you are on really rough ground, tie two boots together with a bungee or luggage strap, then put your wine in one of them.

My mid layer down jacket stuffed in an MX jersey made a reasonable pillow.
WD40 is a good tyre lubricant and helps start a camp fire (as will cotton pads dabbed in Vaseline).
Knee braces make an effective temporary support splint for a broken leg/arm.
Duct tape is good to kill warts.
HD cable ties to hold a flat tyre on a rim to get you home.
Fencing wire to link a broken chain.
A fabric conditioner bottle used as a hot (warm) water bottle on a freezing night then a pee bottle In the early hours.
A helmet makes a stable candle base...er no don’t try this or ask me how I know!

Fleece for a: a thermal layer instead of jacket layer b: stay warm on cool evening c: becomes my pillow.

A good 500ml flask: a: for carrying milk for tea/coffee. In hot weather I buy petrol and 1 l of cold water, drink half of the water, other half goes in flask for next stop.
A good 1 litre stainless steel flask a: for carrying hot water for quick tea/coffee stops travelling b: for carrying ice in hot weather c: for carrying cold water on day trips and afterwards d: for chilling white wine in the evening. Stop on way back to base, pour in the wine and you don't need to worry about carrying a glass bottle.
Dual use wash up liquid/shampoo. The best invention.
Painters plastic dust sheet. Small roll of this stuff, its 12 feet wide, cut to size of your tent for single use. Much smaller pack size than a footprint, leave precut in your tent pack, one for each time to pitch.
Citronella night lights a: good for light b: good for keeping midges away c: leave pack open inside tent discourages midges from entering.
One of the most useful things.....a plastic basin that neatly fits in a pannier or top box. Its a neat carrier box and takes no room if you pack carefully. But....if you make two looped cord handles for it, its great for carrying loose small items, storing things, carry water, food prep, wash up and lots more.
Thanks to Catcitrus on this forum for that one, it has done many trips since he abandoned it in France in 2017.

might off mentioned these before, 2 light weight tire irons that fit lovely in your hands, great for taking tyres off and for talking to someone who disturbs your sleep in the small hours.
If you travel and end up sharing a room with someone who snores so you get no sleep.........
Apparently if you lean over to his bed and give him a goodnight kiss on the cheek he won't snore......but sit awake all night in silent fear......

I take a collapsible water bottle with me, and if possible buy one of the 4L (IIRC) square water bottles when I get there. Transferring the water into the collapsible bottle provides an empty pee bottle, recyclable, and of adequate capacity and neck diameter
