Scottish Ferries ... all OK ??

Post by Monster »

Hi All

Local knowledge please - are the Scottish Ferries running as normal ?

Gourock to Dunoon for example - a simple on-line search shows that the Sunday schedule is a crossing every hour at 20 mins past the hour
until the last one sails at 2120

The 0800 number is no use and the [email protected] are taking a long time to answer this basic question

Local knowledge would be great ... otherwise we will start changing our route unfortunately

Now - on to weather forecasts ....

Cheers All

For Gourock /Dunoon check out Western Ferries not Calmac.
Western are running to normal timetable, turn up and roll on.

Calmac have a, fully comprehensive, current timetable.
Bear in mind accomodation is currently packed out and campsites are in many cases No Tents.

P.S.
The A83 is being routinely closed with very little notice if rain is forecast.

Calmac are running reduced capacity, so some routes (Arran, Cumbrae and Bute local to me for example) can be difficult to get on and no guarantee of getting back, so best to be early or book if you can especially as some ferries don't have much space for bikes.

Western are usually OK, they just trundle back and forth as they fill up (buy your tickets in the wee shop in Gourock). Being a detour route from the Rest and be Thankful, they can also be busy when the road and Old Military Road is closed (yet again).

Probably a bit late for you but the Gourock - Dunoon ferry is working okay as we used it on Friday.
