Nitron adventure rear shock..... Thoughts?

Okay as it say anyone had a nitron adventure shock on their um adventure bike?

Did you have any quality or specific problems?

I'm thinking of the 2 way shock so not cheap.. And its for solo road and trail at sensible non nutter speeds... The std shock has done 54,000mls now and has a hyperpro progressive spring on xt660z.... It dosent leak and still works but...... Its basic and slow., bit like me lol.

I'm not interested in ohlins, hyperpro, yakugar or the the other Dutch lot.... And unfortunately k-tech can't build me a new replacent shock? There front springs are ace

I've got one on my donkey Russ, in fact it's been on this one and my previous one. It's five years old now and I've had no problems at all with it, makes a world of difference to the bike.

I bought mine from Jonathan at Rugged Roads .

Bob is that the version they call R2 or R3 ...has seperate compression and rebound dampening with either manual or seperate preload adjustment?

nice to know your happy with yours and its had some travel work

and Rugged Roads are just down the road well 30mins

I don't know what mine's called , can't find anything signicant on the paperwork. It doesn't have the piggy-back canister though.

Fitted a Nitron shock P/n NTBKH49S to my CBF1000 when the Honda budget shock started to give up the ghost.
No fitting problems and seems to be good quality, certainly better that the Honda one fitted from new.
It performs well, but remember that I am an old guy who does not tear around the place scraping the foot rests on the corners.

Hi Russ. I bought one from Johnathon at Rugged Roads about 4 years ago for the Africa Twin RD07. Makes a big difference to handling with improved damping. I bought a new Showa a couple of years previously and it is much better. I know Paul S over on XRV developed the particular model with Nitron. Very pleased with it so far.. I have the basic model (preload is wind the spring up or down. You get a tool supplied but it is a bit fiddly). Compression and Rebound adjusters on the shock body. Not sure they still do it, but for £90 you can send it back after a couple of years for a proper new seal and rebuild service. I have not bothered as it stills feels great.

Hi Russ Nitron have a good reputation in the road bike world. Would. Think it would transfer to adventure bike use. Good to talk details over phone to.
