Agreed, not nice when wet no matter how waterproof your trousers are. I’ve made an elasticated waterproof cover for mine which does the trick.

Not a nice thought
If you get a natural sheepskin that hasnt had all the lanolin processed out of it its waterproof and doesnt hold that much water
