Lockdown

Post by johnnyboxer »

No more motorcycling for sheer pleasure now

Exercise - walking or running or cycling

Essential shopping

Getting medical supplies or attending a vulnerable person
We buy things we don't need

With money we don't have

To impress people we don't even like

To be honest all this will hardly affect me
as I got no friends to meet (you are not surprised?)
I can use the Emtb for the one mode of exercise per day .. and then walking the next day.
I can only afford essentials .. basic food.
and I can't afford to use the motorbike for a while to keep my overdraft down.
but hope it is lifted soon
Getting medical supplies .. I never ill.

Dont wish to sound `im allright jack` .. but that is what a pathetic life I lead

Luckily we stocked up today so have enough for maybe three weeks and a few local quiet footpaths for walking.
Bought a decent treadmill last year to keep a bit fitter plus plenty of gardening and diy.

Keep safe guys and send the bloody trippers home with a flea in their ear.

If you only use your bikes for leisure riding it could be worth SORNing them as it nearly the end of the month & you will get the unused tax back from DVLA for the remaining full months.
You can do it online https://sorn.service.gov.uk/
should get a cheque for the balance of the tax from DVLA within a week.
My TA is due to be retaxed April 1st so it will be SORN'd instead.

The UK is in lockdown but it isn´t in lockdown,

1. You are not allowed to leave the house but you are allowed to leave the house. You can leave the house for some exercise. (no restrictions on how many times a day you can exercise…at this rate, the UK will be the fittest nation on earth)

2. You are not allowed to exercise in a group, but you can exercise in a group as long as it is your family group. (at this rate, the UK will suddenly have the biggest families on earth)

3. You are not allowed to gather in large numbers, but you are allowed to go to the park where there will be large numbers of people gathered.

4. You are allowed to drive to work, your work should be closed, but your work is allowed to open if you can´t work from home.

5. You can cram yourself onto trains and buses to go to work that should be closed but is allowed to open.

6. You are allowed to shop for basics. You are not allowed to buy clothes but you are allowed to go to B & Q and stock up on your DIY supplies

Basically, you can get up in the morning and go for a walk in the park with your family, then drive to work (joining other colleagues who have travelled by train). You leave work at the end of the day, get in your car with some passengers, pick up some stuff at the DIY shop and drop into the supermarket for food supplies. You can then stand on your doorstep and have a chat with your neighbour. You could also take your dog out for a walk (because even if you are caught, you might be subject to a possible fine of 30 pounds)

^^...yes, from what I’ve listened to and watched on the tv there seems to be a lot of confusion about the restrictions and in particular work restrictions.

As it is now, on the UK, I am fine, but I don't think I could handle a REAL shutdown.

I am hoping that after say 3 weeks there will be a relaxation and we can ride bikes again for a week or so, then repeat, .. 3/1/3/1.. to keep the curve lows.
