Lovely.... I want one! Where is it.... that shop front looks possibly to be Bikes Unlimited in West London? If I could choose only one of my former bikes to bring back, it would be my lovely GT500A - costing £666 OTR ☺

Re: The Two Stroke Bug - Help Needed With a Cure
Welcome to the decease
2 strokes are always fun.
And creates a lot of attention.
What is a 15 000 Euro HD compared with an old 2-stroke ?
I have been riding most of the old ones.
My personal opinion
Kawasaki 3-cylinder machines are most fun, Comes as 250, 350, 400, 500 and 750
My favorite is the 350.
They are not reliable and parts are hard to find.
Suzuki machines are extremely reliable.
Made everything from 120 cc to GT 750 Water cooled.
The GT 750 is a touring machine.
The GT 550 is more fun to ride.
T 500 (GT 500) is a wonderful machine. But expensive
Yamaha.
All there air cooled 2 cylinder machines are good bikes.
RD 125 250, 350 (400)
So my personal choice would be
Suzuki GT 550
or
Yamaha RD 350 (early ones. Before YVPS)
Decent prices. Reliable, fun.
Stay away from racing machines like Suzuki and Yamaha 4-cylinder 500 cc machines.
Too complex.
Attached is some photos from our yearly 2-stroke meeting in Sweden

Re: The Two Stroke Bug - Help Needed With a Cure
Lovely post, thank you.
I'm currently edging toward one of the Suzuki's, maybe the T500. Don't mind paying the premium. Just like the look mainly, but also the reports of longevity and relatively hassle-free ownership (though I'm aware of the oil/gear issue)
Where are you in Sweden? I lived in Dalarna, Sunnasjo near Ludvika for a number of years and loved it. Would still be there if it wasn't for the fact that they stopped the ferries direct from Newcastle to Swedish and Norwegian ports, making it very difficult to travel back and forth, as I always have several rescue greyhounds.

Wow!
You and Erik should start a museum - virtual of course, given the current situation!
Get some pictures up man.
