What is an adventure ?

An adventure is an unusual and exciting or daring experience. Nothing to do with panniers, road surface or motorbikes.

Well here's my latest adventure:

We decided on gin and tonic, so my epic voyage began with a trip to the fridge. Boy is it cold in there.

After a large pour of London Dry, I ventured to the ice dispenser and ran the gauntlet of falling cubes. The books don't tell you about this.

Then I stood back as the tonic bottle hissed and I risked adding it to the glass. Phew, it worked. What an experience.

In these parts they add a slice of lemon so I used my adventure knife to carve off a chunk for each drink. One likes to join in these fruitful local customs, which are an important part of travelling I feel.

So now the adventure is over and thanks to my Garmin Montana I made it back to the living room. And we can sit back with our beverages and I can make another diary entry about a memorable trip into the wilds of the kitchen and back. The gin is now finding its own long way down....

Any exciting experience that is new, and at times risky getting you out of the norm can easily become an adventure. It can be far or just even around where you live.

After a few weeks of almost continuous ebike pedalling..

just getting out of bed the next day..

is a real adventure of a lifetime ..
