not a proper adventure bike

Post by mal4936 »

out today stopped for a brew . got talking to a bloke on a gs . after a while he told me that my tiger 800 xcx was not an adventure bike because adventure bikes are single or twin cylinder bikes and anything else is a pure road bike . iv got almost anywhere i wanted on the tiger but what's your thoughts

well i did think wanker .but always try to be nice and took his comment with a pinch of salt . but got me thinking that some folks must have a fixed opinion in mind as to what makes an adventure bike . funny enough looking at his gs it was gleaming and polished to death .looked like it had never got more off road than asda car park . for me its a bike you can chuck a load of gear on the back and bugger of away from the rat race not get fussed about it looking a bit battered and lived in .a bit like me but whats you opinion of a proper adventure bike

Any bike is an adventure bike.its the adventure you have on the the bike that's the adventure. It's clearly a name.and I bet the gs rider has never strayed from any well paved road with his (ADVENTURE) tyres

A GSXR 1000 is a proper adventure bike. IF he doesn't believe you point him in the direction of TeapotOne.
