10 Years Ago This Month

Post by Alun »

In April 2009 a new digital shoot pushed through the fertile soil of the internet - the ABR forum is 10 year old this month.

Back then I was riding a red Tiger 885.

Happy Birthday, ABR!

I joined in January 2011, just before I took possession of my original Tiger 800 XC.

I think my first post was about travelling overland to China... and finally, next year, I'll be doing it... well Mongolia, which my Chinese ex-wife says is in China!

Ive been on here longer than i care to be reminded of, it was a great place lots happening and new things to learn and folks to meet...and great banter.

Unfortunately its become of late full of sence less posts with nothing to do with biking... Same posters just mouthing off...keybord warriors full of drivel... They should start a column in the local newspaper..

One reason why few post now.... Its all become rather pointless...

Many congrats, Alun, and all those involved in running the site. Thanks for maintaining the forum - not an easy job. I'm always learning new things from other members, love the pics of trails and bikes, the banter and having a place to arrange meet-ups.

I've tried taking part in a Facebook forum - it's not the same at all. Complicated and fiddly. This format works.
