I know you should not have to but a thin smear of vaseline around the rim  (of the clocks) may help keep it out in heavy rain?

I’m not sure the problem is water getting in as I haven’t ridden in the rain that much and still got the misting... some people are saying the moisture build up is created when the units are sealed at the factory - just due to the moisture in the air there

Perhaps Mike H's bike was built during the monsoon!
Joking aside, I can't believe clocks are hermetically sealed, are they?
But then where does the condensation come from and why is it so bad on some bikes?

I see the price of new ones is £5000

Have they gone up?

I think you're looking in the wrong place or at the camo green special edition QB Motorcycles has just put out as they're still £4000 + OTR costs. The camo green one was £5000, which just had the paint, exhaust and crash bars.

This is where i drilled mine, been a couple of months now all good. I opened up the clocks a few times in the warm house, in a cold garage just to vary the temp of the air, even put some new silica bags inside nothing worked so i just drilled the holes, when you fit the clocks back on there is a slope on the bottom so i put some thick tape in front of the holes to work as a drip bar.

Could this be the new Dakar Himalayan, that Nathan was talking about a few pages back. If you start off with the 4k bike and spend extra on the suspension etc it might be a great little off road machine. Nah just 24 bhp I hear you say, same as CRF450L then :D
