Look and learn chaps...
First, take one pair of battered and bruised AlpineStars Tech 3 boots:
Then take a tube of shoe glue and some tape, plus decades of craftsmanship and artisan skills passed down the generations:
Obviously with my experience and know-how this took 4 minutes - it would take a normal person much longer.
Et voila... just like new. A pair of GafferpineStars. All ready for a winter in the Limousin mud.

I'm impressed 1/2Pint. I really didn't think that anyone would notice my subtle attentions to detail. Of course I wrapped the left boot in the northern hemisphere and the right one in the southern hemisphere, for a better finish. It's detailing like this that most people overlook.
Disappointingly, I've actually heard some call my work a load of old cobblers...

Mmmm...
Think it may have been Buffalo Brian the Kid.
Well they lasted 3 years of serial abuse, but probably should have gone longer really.
But watch this space - I may have just struck a cracking ebay deal for some more boots.

Ah, my two best friends...Mr eBay, and Mr PayPal to the rescue dave.....wonder if you would take on a pair of forma boots, that could do with a very similar rebuild
Re: The Craftsman at Work...
If you had used Black gaffer tape, you would of achieved an almost invisible repair.
You still have much to learn my young grasshopper

How did you know Nick?
But I worry that the side armour is lacking protection.
