HISS - Sept 17-21 anyone going?

Post by Monster »

Hi all

Seriously considering the HISS Aragon (Teruel) event Sept 17-21

Ferries are a bit scarce at the minute - not sure why?

Anyone going for 2018 trip?

May link up to get a ferry with cabin from Portsmouth if possible

Cheers

Brittany Ferries are ALWAYS a bloody nightmare. There was some competition a few years ago, but sadly no longer...

Yes. I am seriously pondering this, either Pobla or Aragon HISS, not sure which yet ;)

I always leave getting away (or not!) until the last minute*, but the ride down from St Malo is nice, but adds a full days journey to the trip and overnight stop. Share a Premier Classe ot F1 hotel, and you can get away with around £15 each. However, if time constrained, It;s not an option I know...

* As Simon knows!! :D

As I said on the HISS thread I'm hoping to get down for the September HISS's but I need to decide if the cost of fuel in the van is worth it, I'd not like to ride my EXC all the way down France but I'd consider van to Portsmouth and riding across the Pyrenees from Santander or Bilbao but as you've found the ferries seem to be booked up for bikes, strangely when I try with the van on the same dates there's room. I think Brokenjones is booked in but I don't know how he's getting there.

Have you considered the Portsmouth - St Malo? Its an overnight crossing for around £250-300 each way with a van, and only £99 for one person on one motorbike.
Current bike is a Yamaha T7

Thanks

St Malo to Teruel is about 1,100 kms though ... nearly half a knobby tyre's life each way!!

Not ideal TBH

Probably passing through Teruel between those dates, enroute to the Sierra Nevada with some mates on big fully loaded adventure tourers. What is the HISS Teruel? Sounds like an off road event to me.

Look up the Spanish Biker website

Lots of info there about riding in Spain etc

Look on the events section ... HISS info there
