Bought one of these recently thought I would start a thread to see if any others own the KTM 1290 Adventure R and to gather information on upgrades and farkles.
It would be great to here from other owners.

Nice bike,
Mine is currently in for its first service and to fit a top box i got in the purchase deal.
Already fitted the wings exhaust and carbon side panels, the silencer wakes up the sound and releases an awful lot of weight over standard.

puig are making a new smoked touring screen and headlight protector that i will buy when it's available. it's gonna be a while before we can buy more options for our bike as it's so new out.

Re: KTM 1290 Adventure R Thread
I saw your for sale post and that is partly what promoted me to start this thread,
Three weeks and 8 miles is not much but as i motorbike for pleasure only these days it would not prompt me to sell mine, it could sit in the garage all year and do 0 miles and I would be happy in the knowledge when the urge to ride and time allowing the bike was there I would be good to go.
Was on the A590 in Cumbria today and saw a 1290 R coming away from Ulverston heading towards Windermere, Sadly I was in the works car and did not think the rider would have appreciated a flash of the lights and wave.
First one I have seen on the road since buying mine.
