Re:The Lunchtime thread
ive just done the bolognese from heaven:P
i dont like 'proper' restaurant bolognese with a load of boring pasta coated with a smear of sauce, i like about 50/50. usually 1lb finely chopped stewing steak but didnt have any, so used a bag of frozen lean mince (that was surprisingly good, no need for steak expense in future). sauce= 3 red peppers, 3 garlic cloves, tin of plum toms, 3 red chillis, 2 spoonfuls of sundried tom paste, bit of salt, lots of black pepper, small handful of basil leaves, all blitzed up into a sauce.
sorry dudes, it beats a cheese sandwich. but my 12yr old son ate the leftovers that were supposed to be my lunch tomorrow, so im thinking enchiladas, burritos or quesadilas, what do you reckon?
as you can tell, chilli and garlic feature heavily in my families diet. and a tip- giving nipper a pair of dripping chilli burritos for his school lunch (complete with white shirt) does not impress your wife, i found out last week.
