Circuit of Wales
This has got to be one of the most stupid ideas yet. A racing circuit in an area where it seems to rain most of the flipping time. OK guys, come and have a ride, don't bother with the slicks, you won't need them.

Hmmm, I wonder who is providing the funding. I bet it's not the Welsh tax payers.
Quote: Ken Skates announced the Welsh Government had rejected a proposal for support on Tuesday. Bloody good job. Welsh Government maybe, but it's UK / English tax money at the end of the day.

Re: Circuit of Wales
If I was a director of the CoW, I'd look to relocate it to Northern Ireland, where Mr May has planted a 'magic money tree'.
CoW actually owns the right to run the UK round of MotoGP, but they pay another circuit to do it.
They also took over promising British racing motorcycle chassis manufacturer FTR (supplier to Roberts Racing, Speed-Up and other teams), then let it wither on the vine by closing its works in Milton Keynes in anticipation of it reopening at the newly constructed Circuit of Wales.
The employees all cleared off to work in F1.

Re: Circuit of Wales
Well the money to underwrite any losses made by CoW was to come from the Welsh Assembly budget , not EU or ' English' money, so understandably they had to be very cautious, as they said it would be the money to build 10 schools. It's very easy to run a business if someone else underwrites your losses. The Welsh assembly took flac for buying Cardiff Airport, but what else could they have done really. After a few embarrassing fiascos such as funding a LG factory which closed before it opened and the Valleywood film studios which never saw a film made, I expect they are a bit circumspect about business developers.
Re: Circuit of Wales
The Welsh Assembly needs to use some imagination, go for a big road racing circuit... Or even 2 or 3. On in N Wales, one in Mid Wales and one in the Valleys

I don't think calling anybody a racist fecker qualifies with either of the above rules. The comment does however reflect upon the author.
I am quite aware that there are many Welsh tax payers. However I doubt that their if their contribution to the overall UK tax revenue collected would be sufficient to justify spending on such a wild card project. From reading the article, it would appear that the Welsh assemble is also of the opinion that underwriting the project would not be a worthwhile undertaking.
Ref regarding UK tax revenues.

But you hiding behind 'access denied' can make such comments and statements, hypocrisy at its worst, it's racist and anti-Welsh however you try to sugar coat your response !
