OK,try the by pass for the controller first.
But i have been riding South America for the last year and a half same issues and replaced the fuel pump very cheaply myself.
Just purchased a £20 Bosch for a Toyota Corrola exactly the same pump and did a quick swap.
I did this as thefuelpump was playing up at high altitudes.
But also the cut outs at speed when slowing was the side stand switch, just take a look on the forums easy job connecting two of the three wires together and taping it up, no issues after that, just remember to kick side stand up then taking off.

I gave up and took it to the mechanic.
Got yesterday a new fuel pump controller but still won't start.
So to try to identify the problem I did:
-new spark plugs 3 months ago
-new oil and filter 2 weeks ago
(previous points done as regular service, bike was ruing fine then)
-ECU diagnostic report with no faults
-clean air filter
-new fuel pump
-new fuel pump controller
-checked all hoses to make sure nothing was squeezing them
-there's no vacuum on the tank
-checked side stand and clutch switches
-tried the spare key
What seems strange is that the issues only started after I done the new fork springs and steering head bearings. Maybe just a coincidence!
Well, it's now the mechanic turn to find what's wrong. I'll give you an update then.
By the way, now I have a spare fuel pump and controller if anyone needs one!

yes, I'm quite curious to see the outcome of this. I ruled out most of the suggestions I had from here and from other blogs. One thing I couldn't check was the transponder from the ignition key but I don't think that's the issue as the starter engine runs ok. I think if the transponder was't ok the bike would even try to start.
I just hope it's nothing serious with the engine!! It was nothing wrong with it before, bike was pulling strong as always nor had any strange noise from it. Well, let's see...

Sounds like a loose wiring connector around the steering head(after your work)--suggest that you check every connector and wire for fraying, tension etc(mis-routing?)

OK, just picked up the bike from the mechanic!
Problem - faulty fuel pump controller which I had replaced just yesterday from one purchased from Motorworks! Conclusion, faulty item, caused the bike to not start and a bill for £350 at Jap and German Motorcycles London!
Thanks for everyones input on this, at the end I got to the right conclusion but had bad luck with the part supplied. Which I had just tested it doing a fuel pump controller bypass instead of buying a replacement one...

Careful now!
It's unusual to get a new item that's faulty from the start - with exactly the same symptom as the old one. And Motorworks, in my experience, are pretty good for parts.
It could still be a dodgy connector that got disturbed again and works by chance.
Anyway, good luck and ride safe (thumbs)

Yes, I'm giving the benefit of doubt to Motorworks, never a problem with them either and just got a full refund for the part plus postage.

I'm glad that you're sorted.
