Thanks netsonic. Would you be able to a write up on how to check/adjust the tps, does it need any thing other than a multi meter, can you do it without taking the tank off.
I suspect my issue is something else as the bike cuts out under normal load, not under braking or hard acceleration. When it cuts out it won't start on the button or jump start, I have to turn the ignition off for a minute then it starts fine. Riding home after a night shift last night it died twice in 3 miles, yet I rode 12 miles in one go with no problem after the symptoms first started.

Does look like the same parts on the WK400. When i spoke to the technical support at WK they confirmed the exta plug under the seat is for a diagnostic tester but only a WK one will fit the plug. You need the diagnostic tester to clear faults held in the ECU but you cant do any ECU reprogramming aparantly

Hi Norton....multi meter, two big pins, lots of patience. ....tank stays on. There are lots of videos on the interweb to get an idea, you dont need the engine running either jusy turn the ignition on when your ready to test the volts. The two pins you push carfully up the plug wires past the water seal so it touches the metal and do this with the TPS plug disconnected to make it easier to get the pins in then put the plug back and connect your crocodile clips. There are 3 wires you dont want the 5v wire just the other two....hope this helps

Sounds like two positaps would help make a more permananet connection if it were required

Right, I'm rubbish at this electronic stuff. Netsonic can you remember which wires exactly, from left to right they are coloured yellow, green/black, blue/red. I think it should be the green/black and blue/red but when I put the multimeter across them it reads 0.28 then climbs?
Also the warning light is throwing 2 codes. The first one flashes twice, once for a second and then once for 1/2 second. The second time it flashes 4 times quickly (I think this is for the TPS). Anyone know for sure what they mean, I'm guessing I'm going to have to take it to a dealer.

So according to the pdf file I posted earlier that would be 11 [10+1] and 4 [1+1+1+1]

Cheers, Andi. So the long flash denotes 10 then? According to the pdf I could have a faulty battery (voltage seems fine), a bad earth somewhere, faulty tps or faulty ignition coil.

The blue should be the 5v live, you can test this with the TPS plug unplugged, put multimeter lead black to negative battery then probe with red lead into blue wire plug hole you should see 5v. The 5v wire DO NOT use to test TPS voltage range. Use the other two only. Place pins in the backside of plug through waterseal until touching metal and replace plug onto TPS. Attach multimeter to pins, which should be in the yellow and green wires. Set the meter to 20v DC and switch ignition on but dont start engine, you should see .72 which is throttle closed voltage, turn throttle and volts should increase smoothly. Im interested to know if yours reads .72 or something different, mine is now reset to .74 throttle closed

Fault codes get stored in the ECU and can only be cleared by a WK diagnostic tester which your dealer is unlikely to have, WK will loan the tester to the dealer if requested. As a point to note the flashing stops once the bike is started so you may not be too worried
