Hi all,

Just wondered what everyone is doing about a cabin on the ferry as I am billy no mates and have just been looking at availability and prices but is says you need to book a cabin on all overnight sailings or am I missing something.

Still need to get a suitable bike though!!!!

Cheers

Hello Alan,

You have to book a cabin with the overnight sailing!

What sort of bike are you thinking of buying?

Hi George,

Just seems a waste to have a cabin able to sleep two or more when I'm booking on my own. Total price at the moment comes to £353, don't know what everyone has paid.

With regard to bike I haven't a clue at the moment but being a short ar-e and old rules a number of bigger bikes out. Been considering everything from a CRF250L, CB500X, CCM 450, XT660R & Z, Transalp, BMW GS650, Tiger 800 etc but still unsure what to buy, currently riding an elderly VFR800.

Cheers

Jon came last year on a Transalp, Alan.....they do fine and for not much outlay you can buy one to sell upon your return if need be? They're low to begin with I take it?

CCM light.....more money...lowering kit..saddle long days?

Lots of road work so maybe a bigger cc kind of moto than a 250?....not for the motor revving but for saddle long days?

Tiger heavy compared to the others, which are heavy enough anyway too?...comfort though.

I feel your pain :)

Hi Alan,

As soon as I received dates from WIBO I booked ferry... it was way back on the 9th of January - £146 for each leg. I'm doing a return for £292 (including room) :) A mate is joining us on the return ferry for £146.

Ferry details are as follows;

*UK-SPAIN*
18 October 2017 *Portsmouth-Bilbao Leaving 11:45am Cap Finistère* arriving 19th at 12:45pm

*SPAIN-UK*
4 November 2017 *Santander-Portsmouth 20:30pm Cap Finistère* arriving 5th at 19:45pm

I booked back in March and my crossing is costing me £403 including a standard outside cabin on the way out and a large inside cabin on the way back. That was the best they had available at the time.

Hello Alan,
Sorry for the slow reply but I have been up at the NW200 most of the week and I only noticed your post.

I have a 2 berth cabin booked and I'm just waiting on my mate confirming with me that he is going 100%!

I will be riding a Africa Twin XRV750 and if my mate is going he will be on a 650 Dommie.

What route are you planning to take through Spain. I may already be in Spain but if you know where you plan to stay on the way down, may well join up with you at your overnight stop

Hello Mick,
I'm staying at Keith's house aka WIBO on the night of the 19th Oct. Heading there once off the ferry!
